Finally, we had a conference in our city (http://www. yeast2019.org): Göteborg was a host city for the biggest meeting for the yeast community! Together with several other colleagues from the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers, we have organized 29th International Conference on Yeast Genetics and Molecular Biology. 500 yeasters around the world joined us in Göteborg at the end of summer for 5 days of science. It was a pleasure to meet many old friends and particularly welcoming new to the yeast community. Many young scientists came and had an opportunity to present their work during Workshops and very engaging poster sessions.
